OstroVit Betaine HCl provides betaine hydrochloride in a simple, precise form: a 650 mg vegetable capsule, taken once a day with a meal.
Betaine, also known as trimethylglycine (TMG), is an organic compound derived from the amino acid glycine. It occurs naturally in the body and in foods such as beetroot, spinach and wholegrain cereals. Betaine hydrochloride is a salt of betaine and hydrochloric acid commonly used in food supplements, so its amount is not equivalent to the same amount of pure betaine.
The formula is kept to the essentials: betaine hydrochloride and a plant-based capsule shell (HPMC), with no animal-derived ingredients. At 1 capsule a day, a tub of 90 capsules lasts three months.
